Manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Laboratory.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-Cfc1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-Cfc1 antibody
Cryptic, also known as CriptoFRL1Cryptic (CFC-1), was originally identified as a secreted protein that is specifically expressed during mesoderm differentiation. Cryptic, along with Cripto, Xenopus FRL-1 and zebrafish OEP (one-eyed pinhead) define the epidermal growth factor-CriptoFRL1Cryptic (EGF-CFC) family of signaling proteins. Genetic evidence from mice and humans points to a role for cryptic in determining left-right asymmetry.

UniProt Comments for Cfc1
Function: Nodal coreceptor involved in the correct establishment of the left-right axis. May play a role in mesoderm and/or neural patterning during gastrulation. Ref.1 Ref.4
Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor ? GPI-anchor
By similarity. Secreted
By similarity.
Tissue specificity: No expressed in ***** tissues. Ref.1
Developmental stage: Expressed during gastrulation (from 6.5 dpc to 11 dpc) in two spatial domains that correspond to the axial and lateral mesoderm. In the first domain expression is progressively localized to the anterior primitive streak, the head process, and the node and notochordal. In the second domain, expression is initially concentrated in the lateral region of the egg cylinder, and is later found circumferentially in the intermediate and lateral plate mesoderm. Furthermore, the expression can also be detected at the early head-fold stage in the midline neuroectoderm, and consequently is an early marker for the
prospective floor plate of the neural tube. Expression ceases at the end of gastrulation, and has not been observed in later embryonic stages. Ref.1
Post-translational modification: N-glycosylated. Ref.1
Disruption phenotype: Positional defects in internal organs. The lung presents a right pulmonary isomerism. The stomach is located on either the left or the right and the spleen is small and has an abnormal shape. The apex of the heart pointed to the right or left. In addition malpositioning of heart outflow tracts is observed, the aorta is connected to the right ventricle and emerged from the heart in a ventral position and to the right of the pulmonary artery. This one is connected to either the left or the right ventricle. Ref.4
Sequence similarities: Contains 1 EGF-like domain.
