3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q16568
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human Cartpt. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human Cartpt and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates
Detection Range
15.6 pg/ml -1000 pg/ml.
Sensitivity
The minimum detectable dose of human Cartpt is typically less than 3.9 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Preparation and Storage
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
ISO Certification
Manufactured in an ISO 13485:2003 and EN ISO 13485:2012 Certified Laboratory.
Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of Cartpt elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS904739 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cocaine-and amphetamine-regulated transcript protein (Cartpt) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing Cartpt. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS904739 kit is based on Cartpt antibody-Cartpt antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Cartpt antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, Cartpt. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Cartpt elisa kit
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique.
Antibody specific for Cartpt has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Cartpt present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for Cartpt is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Cartpt bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for Cartpt
This gene encodes a secreted protein which is processed by prohormone/proprotein convertases to produce smaller, biologically active peptides. Expression of the transcript for this gene is regulated by certain drugs such as cocaine, and the encoded protein is thought to be involved in the regulation of appetite and stress. Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to obesity.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
UniProt Comments for Cartpt
CARTPT: Satiety factor closely associated with the actions of leptin and neuropeptide y; this anorectic peptide inhibits both normal and starvation-induced feeding and completely blocks the feeding response induced by neuropeptide Y and regulated by leptin in the hypothalamus. It promotes neuronal development and survival in vitro. Belongs to the CART family.
