The mouse Cx31 immunogenic peptide sequence shows 3 aa differences in rat Cx 31 (4). The Cx31 peptide sequence does not significant homology with other known Connexins. Actual crossreactivity of antibodies in various species is not established

Supplied as a liquid, neat serum, 40% glycerol.
Immunogen
A 17 amino acid peptide sequence within the 1st cytoplasmic domain of the rat Cx31 (2) was used to generate anti-Mouse Cx31. Amino terminal Cysteine was added for conjugation to KLH (carrier protein)
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-GJB3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 for neat serum and 1-10ug/ml for affinity pure using ECL. An antibody raised against a GST-fusion has been shown to recognize ~31kD band in skin (3).
