UniProt Comments for S1PR3
S1PR3: Receptor for the lysosphingolipid sphingosine 1- phosphate (S1P). S1P is a bioactive lysophospholipid that elicits diverse physiological effect on most types of cells and tissues. When expressed in rat HTC4 hepatoma cells, is capable of mediating S1P-induced cell proliferation and suppression of apoptosis. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.
Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q22.1-q22.2
Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane
Molecular Function: integrin binding; G-protein coupled receptor activity; lipid binding
Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; anatomical structure morphogenesis; regulation of interleukin-1 beta production; positive regulation of cell proliferation; cytokine production; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase inhibiting pathway; inflammatory response

Research Articles on S1PR3
1. Data show that sphingosine kinase SphK1 and sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) receptors S1P1, S1P2, S1P3, and S1P5 were expressed from primary, up to recurrent and secondary glioblastomas, with sphingosine kinase SphK2 levels were highest in primary tumors.
