Form/Format
Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution in PBS and NaCl with Trehalose.
Biological Significance
Transforming growth factor (sometimes referred to as Tumor growth factor, or TGF) is used to describe two classes of polypeptide growth factors, TGF alpha and TGFBeta.
Bioactivity
ND50 is typically 15-30 ug/ml in the presence of 125 ng/ml of?recombinant human LAP TGF beta 1 and 0.25 ng/ml TGF beta 1.
Endotoxin Levels
<10 ng per 1 mg of the antibody as determined by the LAL method.
Immunogen
TGF beta antibody was raised in goat using CHO cell-derived recombinant human LAP (TGF-beta1) as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution product may be stored at 4 degree C in the short term. For long term storage aliquot and freeze at -20 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-TGF beta antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for TGF beta
This gene encodes an RGD-containing protein that binds to type I, II and IV collagens. The RGD motif is found in many extracellular matrix proteins modulating cell adhesion and serves as a ligand recognition sequence for several integrins. This protein plays a role in cell-collagen interactions and may be involved in endochondrial bone formation in cartilage. The protein is induced by transforming growth factor-beta and acts to inhibit cell adhesion. Mutations in this gene are associated with multiple types of corneal dystrophy.
