Related Product Information for
anti-IL-23R antibody
IL-23, a member of the IL-12 cytokine family, is composed of a p40 subunit, which is shared with IL-12, and a p19 subunit, with an approximate molecular weight of 60 kDa. IL-23 is produced by activated dendritic cells and macrophages in response to microorganisms. IL-23 promotes Th17 cells producing TNF-a, IL-17, IL-6, IL-22, GM-CSF, and other novel factors, which are associated with the induction of autoimmune inflammation. IL-23 is essential for Th17 differentiation, expansion, and survival by binding to its receptor, thereby activating the signaling pathway. Many studies revealed that the IL-23/Th17 pathway is implicated in the pathophysiology of various autoimmune diseases, such as autoimmune arthritis, primary biliary cirrhosis, and inflammatory bowel disease.?

NCBI Summary for IL-23R
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the receptor for IL23A/IL23. This protein pairs with the receptor molecule IL12RB1/IL12Rbeta1, and both are required for IL23A signaling. This protein associates constitutively with Janus kinase 2 (JAK2), and also binds to transcription activator STAT3 in a ligand-dependent manner. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
UniProt Comments for IL-23R
Associates with IL12RB1 to form the interleukin-23 receptor. Binds IL23 and mediates T-cells, NK cells and possibly certain macrophage/myeloid cells stimulation probably through activation of the Jak-Stat signaling cascade. IL23 functions in innate and adaptive immunity and may participate in acute response to infection in peripheral tissues. IL23 may be responsible for autoimmune inflammatory diseases and be important for tumorigenesis.
Research Articles on IL-23R
1. Data indicate that the interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) SNPs rs11209026, p.Arg381Gln; rs41313262 p.Val362Ile were not associated with susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Chinese Han population.
