Western Blot (WB) of anti-TUBA1B antibody
Western blot analysis of Alpha-tubulin (AcK40) expression in HeLa (A) whole cell lysates.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-TUBA1B antibody
Immunohistochemical analysis of Alpha-tubulin (AcK40) staining in human breast cancer, mouse brain formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

UniProt Comments for TUBA1B
TUBA1B: Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. Dimer of alpha and beta chains. Belongs to the tubulin family.
Protein type: Cytoskeletal; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13.12
Cellular Component: cytoplasmic microtubule; microtubule; myelin sheath
Molecular Function: double-stranded RNA binding; GTP binding; GTPase activity; protein binding; structural constituent of cytoskeleton; structural molecule activity; ubiquitin protein ligase binding
Biological Process: 'de novo' posttranslational protein folding; cell division; cellular protein metabolic process; cytoskeleton-dependent intracellular transport; microtubule cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; microtubule-based process; protein folding
Research Articles on TUBA1B
1. Results suggest that lithium chloride (LiCl) treatments activate alpha-tubulin N-acetyltransferase 1 (alphaTAT1) by the inhibition of glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK-3beta) and promote the alpha-tubulin acetylation, and then elongate the primary cilia.
