Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
ISO Certification
Manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 Certified Laboratory.
Supply Chain Verification
Manufactured in a lab with traceable raw materials. Bulk orders can typically be prepared to the customera??s specifications, please inquire.
Other Notes
Small volumes of DISC1 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

interacts with a variety of cytoskeletal proteins; truncated mutant form is associated with Schizophrenia [RGD, Feb 2006]
UniProt Comments for DISC1
Function: Involved in the regulation of multiple aspects of embryonic and ***** neurogenesis. Required for neural progenitor proliferation in the ventrical/subventrical zone during embryonic brain development and in the ***** dentate gyrus of the hippocampus. Participates in the Wnt-mediated neural progenitor proliferation as a positive regulator by modulating GSK3B activity and CTNNB1 abundance. Plays a role as a modulator of the AKT-mTOR signaling pathway controlling the tempo of the process of newborn neurons integration during ***** neurogenesis, including neuron positioning, dendritic development and synapse formation. Inhibits the activation of AKT-mTOR signaling upon interaction with CCDC88A. Regulates the migration of early-born granule cell precursors toward the dentate gyrus during the hippocampal development. Plays a role, together with PCNT, in the microtubule network formation. Ref.4
Subunit structure: Interacts with CCDC88A (via C-terminus); the interaction is direct. Interacts with GSK3B. Interacts (via C-terminal) with PCNT. Interacts with tubulin alpha, ACTN2, ANKHD1, ATF4, ATF5, CEP63, EIF3S3, MAP1A, NDEL1, PAFAH1B1, RANBP9, SPTBN4, SYNE1 and TRAF3IP1. Interaction with microtubules may be mediated in part by TRAF3IP1. Interacts with CHCHD6
By similarity. Interacts with NDEL1. Ref.4
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm ? cytoskeleton ? microtubule organizing center ? centrosome. Cytoplasm. Cell junction ? synapse ? postsynaptic cell membrane ? postsynaptic density
By similarity. Note: Colocalizes with PCNT at the centrosome
By similarity. Localizes to punctate cytoplasmic foci which may overlap in part with mitochondria. Colocalizes with NDEL1 in the perinuclear region and the centrosome. Ref.1 Ref.4
Tissue specificity: Expressed in brain, heart, kidney, liver and thymus. Within the brain expression is high in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus and olfactory bulb and is also seen at lower levels in the cerebellum. Ref.1
Developmental stage: Expressed at high levels at E20.5. Expressed at lower levels at P2 and P6. Ref.1
Induction: Up-regulated during neurite outgrowth upon differentiation with NGF. Ref.4
