Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000.
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Heart shows patchy staining of myocardial fibres in longitudinal section. Recommended concentration, 3-5ug/ml.
Western Blot: Approx 60kDa and 70kDa bands observed in lysates of cell line HeLa (calculated MW of 64.5kDa according to NP_542158.1 and 68.7kDa according to NP_000953.2) Recommended for use at 1-3ug/ml.

Staining (1ug/ml) of HeLa lysate (RIPA buffer, 30ug total protein per lane). Primary incubated for 1 hour. Detected by western blot using chemiluminescence.

(3.8ug/ml) staining of paraffin embedded Human Heart. Steamed antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6, AP-staining.

This is one of two genes encoding similar enzymes that catalyze the conversion of arachinodate to prostaglandin. The encoded protein regulates angiogenesis in endothelial cells, and is inhibited by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin. Based on its ability to function as both a cyclooxygenase and as a peroxidase, the encoded protein has been identified as a moonlighting protein. The protein may promote cell proliferation during tumor progression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]

COX-1: May play an important role in regulating or promoting cell proliferation in some normal and neoplastically transformed cells. Homodimer. Belongs to the prostaglandin G/H synthase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
