Application Notes for anti-Fgf23 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 16000.
Western Blot: Approx 27+38kDa bands observed in Mouse Brain lysates (calculated MW of 27.7kDa according to NP_073148.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Garringer et al, Am J Physiol Endocrinol Metab.2008 Oct;295(4): E929-37. PMID: 18682534). Recommended concentration: 0.5-2ug/ml.
Western Blot (WB) of anti-Fgf23 antibody
(0.5ug/ml) staining of Mouse Brain lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.

NCBI Summary for Fgf23
This gene encodes a member of the fibroblast growth factor family. The encoded protein regulates phosphate homeostasis and vitamin D metabolism. Mutation of the related gene in humans causes autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets (ADHR). The secreted protein is further cleaved into N- and C-terminal chains, which results in loss of function. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2013]
UniProt Comments for Fgf23
FGF23: Regulator of phosphate homeostasis. Inhibits renal tubular phosphate transport by reducing SLC34A1 levels. Upregulates EGR1 expression in the presence of KL. Acts directly on the parathyroid to decrease PTH secretion. Regulator of vitamin-D metabolism. Negatively regulates osteoblast differentiation and matrix mineralization. Defects in FGF23 are the cause of autosomal dominant hypophosphataemic rickets (ADHR). ADHR is characterized by low serum phosphorus concentrations, rickets, osteomalacia, leg deformities, short stature, bone pain and dental abscesses. Defects in FGF23 are a cause of hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis (HFTC). HFTC is a severe autosomal recessive metabolic disorder that manifests with hyperphosphatemia and massive calcium deposits in the skin and subcutaneous tissues. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family.
