Ion channels like anti Cav beta 2 calcium channel - CACNB - are localized to cell plasma membrane and activation with ligands results in cellular responses. With limited information about molecular subunit composition for active voltage dependent calcium channels, MyBiosource's mouse monoclonal antibody recognized beta specifically and not gamma or alpha. Cell experiments to determine functional properties commonly utilize stable transfections of human or mouse gene plasmid lenti activation system expression or ShRNA plasmid sc knockdown. The ability to distinguish subtypes of expression in either stably puromycin type selection or stable gene silencing puromyocin selection requires our pan species [ human mouse rat ] CACNB2 antibody. Compared to rabbit antibodies, our Cav B2 calcium channel voltage antibody recognizes protein in lysates, IHC and is suitable for ELISA kits development. anti-Cacnb2 antibody
Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. Cavbeta subunits are involved in the transport of the pore-forming alpha1 subunit to the plasma membrane. They also shield an ER Retention signal on the alpha1 subunit, thereby guiding the poreforming subunit to the target membrane.

UniProt Comments for Cacnb2
CACNB2: The beta subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels contributes to the function of the calcium channel by increasing peak calcium current, shifting the voltage dependencies of activation and inactivation, modulating G protein inhibition and controlling the alpha-1 subunit membrane targeting. Defects in CACNB2 are the cause of Brugada syndrome type 4 (BRGDA4). A heart disease characterized by the association of Brugada syndrome with shortened QT intervals. Brugada syndrome is a tachyarrhythmia characterized by right bundle branch block and ST segment elevation on an electrocardiogram (ECG). It can cause the ventricles to beat so fast that the blood is prevented from circulating efficiently in the body. When this situation occurs (called ventricular fibrillation), the individual will faint and may die in a few minutes if the heart is not reset. Belongs to the calcium channel beta subunit family. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
