Western Blot (WB) of anti-DSP antibody
Western blot analysis of Desmoplakin expression in MCF7 (A), Hela (B), mouse heart (C) whole cell lysates.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-DSP antibody
Immunohistochemical analysis of Desmoplakin staining in human stomach cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

NCBI Summary for DSP
This gene encodes a protein that anchors intermediate filaments to desmosomal plaques and forms an obligate component of functional desmosomes. Mutations in this gene are the cause of several cardiomyopathies and keratodermas, including skin fragility-woolly hair syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
UniProt Comments for DSP
Major high molecular weight protein of desmosomes. Involved in the organization of the desmosomal cadherin-plakoglobin complexes into discrete plasma membrane domains and in the anchoring of intermediate filaments to the desmosomes.
Research Articles on DSP
