Introduction
NRTN belongs to the GDNF family of ligands, a distant member of the TGF-beta superfamily. NRTN, a ligand used to bind to GFRA2 receptors, signals through RET and a GPI-linked coreceptor, and promotes endurance of neuronal populations, controls the size of non-neuronal cell population such as haemopoietic cells and regulate the development and maintenance of the CNS. Mutation in NRTN results in Hirschsprung Disease.

Formulation
NRTN protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered concentrated solution in 30 mM Citrate Sodium, pH 4.2, 400 mM NaCl, with 0.02 % Tween-20.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized NRTN in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 0.5mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Stability
Lyophilized NRTN although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution NRTN should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).?
