Streptavidin FITC
Streptavidin FITC is supplied as a purified product conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). Streptavidin is a 52.8 kDa protein purified from the bacterium Streptomyces avidinii. Streptavidin is a tetramer, each subunit binds biotin with equal affinity. Streptavidin has a very high affinity for biotin, forming a strong non-covalent streptavidin-biotin complex.
This reagent may be used as a detection reagent for biotin conjugated primary antibodies in immunoassay applications.
